Winterhaven Carnival – The 7th Annual Winterhaven Carnival is coming up soon! Save the date for Friday, May 19th from 5 pm to 8 pm here at Winterhaven. For those that are new to the school, this is our biggest community event of the year and it coincides with our Wealth of Winterhaven School Auction and the Annual Art Show. It is a good time for the whole family that is (mostly) free! For no cost, we will have a bouncy house for all ages, an inflatable slide for kids up to 4th grade and an inflatable obstacle course for kids in grades 5 and up. Also for free are various carnival games, performances by a juggling clown on a unicycle, balloon animals, face painting, popcorn and snow cones. In addition, for a small fee, there is a “dunk” tank for teachers (this is a fundraiser run by the 5th grade class to benefit the school garden), a cupcake walk, and pizza, salad and soda for sale. Also, the Annual Art Show will be going on in the gym organized by our own amazing art teacher Sharon Hatrack. Make sure you go in and check out all the cool and creative work our kids have been doing this year! Please put the date on your calendars! Contact me (kristinwdoherty@yahoo.com) if you are not already helping and are able to help. Any questions please contact - Kristin Doherty at kristinwdoherty@yahoo.com   ****THE CARNIVAL NEEDS A LOT OF HELPERS - PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP USING THIS LINK!! http://signup.com/go/AqqyZbU

Change of date for Move-Up Day – Due to the delay in the lottery this year for new families, we need to move the date of our annual Move Up Day.  The new date and time for Move-Up Day will be Thursday, June 8th starting at 2:15 pm.

Field Of Fun – This is a special time set aside for the whole school to engage in activity that is fun, social and inclusive for all. The structure is informal and students have free choice of what they want to participate in. There are water activities for some of the events. Popsicles will be distributed at the end of the day. There are a few guidelines that we want students to follow. The dress for the day needs to be within the district/school guidelines and appropriate for weather and fun play. Students will be active and may get wet. Shoes/sandals must be worn at all times. We are ordering up sun and fun. Thank you for your help and support for a wonderful fun-filled day.  If you have any questions, please contact Colleen Dixon at cdixon@pps.net

Field of Fun Popsicle Helpers - If you can, please assist Ms. Dixon to quickly distribute hundreds of Popsicles to the students after field of fun on Friday May 26th 2:30-3 pm.  Use this link to sign up: http://signup.com/go/EgNaVAb
