Fall Book Fair - Get your winter reading and holiday gift lists ready for the PTSA Book Fair. We’ll be in the Library December 5th through the 9th, from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm every day. Once again, Wallace Books is our supplier and your purchases help support the Library with 12% of our total sales being credited toward future library book purchases. Come check out this season’s newest selections! Fall Food Harvest Please join the Winterhaven Community Service Committee in a Fall Food Harvest for the Portland Food Project.   Items can be dropped off in the front lobby near the bulletin board from Friday, December 2nd through Tuesday, December 13th.  By providing reusable, green donation bags to members of the community, the Portland Food Project is creating a network of long-term food donors that help supply food to local pantries in the Portland area. Please bring in any non-perishable food items that you would like to donate, and help to fill as many green bags for them as we can! More information: email Shelley Fluter Norris at shelleyfluternorris@gmail.com.   For information on Portland Food Project: http://www.portlandfoodproject.org

 

Raphael House donations – Our kindergartners have been collecting donations for the Raphael House of Portland.  Donations have been coming in and we are gaining momentum.  Our kindergartners are experiencing great pride and joy as our donations grow. For a detailed list of needed supplies and more information about the Raphael House please visit their website at www.raphaelhouse.com.  Also, please look for our kindergarten flyers that are posted throughout our school. Collection boxes are located in the hall by our kindergarten classroom.  We will collect items through Thursday, December 8th.   Please contact Dave Huckaba (dhuckaba@pps.net) with any questions. Thanks for everybody’s help & support!!!  

 

2017 Variety Show - The Variety Show provides a way to showcase creative and interesting things that the students enjoy doing. 2017 Winterhaven Variety Show Auditions will be held after school on January 3rd, 4th and 5th (right after winter break). Come to your audition with a performance ready act that is 3 minutes or less in length. Shamrock Run - Join the Winterhaven team for the annual Shamrock Run.  Information can be found at the website: http://www.shamrockrunportland.com.  If we get enough participants we can raise PTSA funds while keeping our bodies moving! The event is on Sunday March 19, 2017 and register for team 8705.Contact marisha.childs@gmail.com.
