Greetings All,

We are gearing up for our sixth annual auction, the Wealth of Winterhaven, on Friday, May 19thThe auction is a low-key event held outside in conjunction with the end-of-year Carnival.

Why is it called the Wealth of Winterhaven? We know that so many of you have talents and items that can be donated to support our school, and we’re so thankful that so many give!

The proceeds of the auction will go for staff support (educational assistants) to ensure that our kids have the support and resources necessary for their success!

Do you have a good or service you would be willing to donate? Do you work for a company that would be willing to donate something? Have a friend who owns a business? Some ideas:

  • Vacation home you'd be willing to offer?
  • A party for a group in your house/vacation house/boat?
  • Products or a gift certificate from your (or a neighborhood) business? (note: most businesses in Sellwood/Westmoreland have been approached)
  • Items of value that your kids have outgrown? Bikes, strollers, scooters and more?
  • Baking service (ex. a plate of cookies each month for a year)?
  • Do you work someplace interesting and are willing to give a behind the scenes tour?
  • Do you have a skill you'd be willing to teach (ex. art, music, cooking, soccer, tennis, photography)?
  • Professional service (ex. legal or human resources advice, construction, electrical, car repair, editing, marketing, house cleaning and more)?
  • Items from another business (your favorite restaurant, café, clothing shop, outdoor store and more)?

Please let me know if you can help out, or if you have other ideas. I’ve attached a form for each donation (in Word and PDF format). Typically, we ask that the items donated be of a value of $40 or more.

We’re hoping to have items gathered by May 14th. Soon, you’ll also be receiving a message from the room parent in your class to follow up on this email.

Finally, we will need lots of people to place bids at the auction, so please put the event on your calendar! Parents can shop while their kids are in the bouncy house!

I look forward to seeing you there, and browsing the wonderful items you all offer.

Cheers,

Alan
